Mercedes-Benz dealer network activity also increased, to 920,000 workshop hours sold (a 2.2% rise) and 11,300 new service contracts activated (up 18.7%). There was a 6% rise in customer-pay parts sales as well, and a 6.2% jump in the number of vehicles being serviced by Mercedes-Benz dealers.
MobiloVan, the free roadside assistance programme, continued to deliver a class-leading average roadside assistance time of less than one hour and a roadside repair rate in excess of 80%.
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services had a record-breaking year, funding almost £294.3m worth of vans in 2015 (16% up on 2014). MBFS continues to fund one in three Mercedes-Benz vans in the UK.
“We were very clear that 2015 would be a year of sustainability, focused on maintaining our registration benchmark, so to achieve this in some style is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work and commitment of our colleagues,” Steve Bridge, the Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said.
“Not only are we selling more vehicles, but we are selling more vehicles to more customers, which is key. Our products are award-winning, and our services that take care of customers once they’ve purchased our vans are market-leading. We do everything from financing and insuring a van, to repair and maintenance, roadside recovery. We can even dispose of a van at the end of its life. We’re finding more and more that our customers are taking up this full service offering.”
