More top awards for Mercedes-Benz vans
4th July 2013
Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles continue to shine, this time at the 2013 Van Fleet World Honours and the Honest John Awards.

The Sprinter won Van Fleet’s overall Safety Award and Best Large Van category. Editor John Kendall said: “Mercedes-Benz was the first van maker to offer Electronic Stability Program on the Sprinter 11 years ago and is the only manufacturer to fit the safety system as standard to all its vans – Citan, Vito and Sprinter.
“Later this year, the new Sprinter will be the first with Crosswind Assist as standard, to maintain stability in a strong crosswind. Collision Avoidance and Blindspot Assistance will also be available on the new model. Few rivals come close.
“As the winner of our Best Large Van award, the Sprinter offers one of the most comprehensive ranges available for a large van, including Traveliner passenger models and the chassis cab and dropside ranges. A new model is due in the autumn and it says a lot for the current design that Mercedes will not be changing the basic structure.”
The new Mercedes-Benz Citan, meanwhile, only made its debut in March and the has already scooped its first award, at this year’s Honestjohn.co.uk Awards as Most Popular Van. The review which has stood head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to our users is the new Citan,” editor Dan Harrison said. “This is the first ever small van from Mercedes-Benz and it feels a cut above the competition in terms of quality and refinement. It's proved very popular on the site.”
