iPad app for Citan makes presentations easier

Mercedes-Benz UK has developed its own interactive iPad-based augmented reality application for the all-new Citan van.
Based on the original 3D CAD-CAM diagrams, Citan has been mapped into 2D and 
the result can be printed on to any flat surface – in any size. The iPad’s rear-facing camera is used to pick up recognition points and the App does the rest, turning the Citan into reality.
It will allow sales teams to visit potential customers with a Citan, literally, rolled up under their arm when it becomes available in January 2013.
Customers can take a full 360° tour of the van, change colours at the touch of a finger, see what different wheels look like and even change the interior spec without having to visit a showroom. It’s even possible to apply their own livery to see what it looks like.
