Women outscore men in LGV learner tests
21st March 2012
Just over 51% of all LGV tests result in a pass, new figures from the Department for Transport show. Aside from small fluctuations between months, this has been fairly constant throughout time, although there has been a small increase over the past nine months.
LGV tests are mostly taken by men (93% of all tests, a number that has remained constant since April 2009). But in most months the female pass rate has been higher than the pass rate for men. On average, almost 54% of female tests result in a pass, although they only account for one in every 13 test passes.
About 60% of PCV tests taken by women since 2009 have resulted in a pass, whereas roughly 52% of tests taken by males resulted in a pass.
